何謂OMR?(What is OMR?)
OMR是Optical Mark Recognition(光學劃記符號辨識)或是Optical Mark Reading(光學劃記符號讀取)的意思。

如何應用OMR?(How does OMR function?)
使用者利用鉛筆或藍、黑原子筆在預先設計好的表格或欄位上勾選，再經由光學閱讀機掃描讀取後，將這些欄位轉換為資料儲存於電腦中。
Users could use pens or pencils to make marks in certain pre-defined positions on a form to indicate their responses. The Optical Mark Reader,which will detect the presence of those marks by measuring the level of reflecting light,
then scans the completed forms;the reader will convert those mark patterns into the meaningful data and transmits it to the computer for storage,analysis and reporting
OMR研發至今已可結合條碼(Barcode)、字元辨識(OCR即Optical Character Recognition)及影像掃描(Image Scanning)三種技術，增加資料收集的彈性及多樣性。

準確性： 光學閱讀機將表格 (“form”) 掃描後，將使用者的劃記轉成資料儲存入電腦中，毋須再經由任何人工介入處理，大大提昇了資料收集的準確性。
